FreshWater Filter Cleaner

FreshWater Filter Cleaner is the granular deep-clean formula for spa filter cartridges — the quarterly or semi-annual treatment that goes beyond a rinse-and-spray maintenance to restore a heavily used filter to near-new condition. Dissolve the granules in water, soak the filter overnight, rinse thoroughly, and reinstall. The result is a filter that's actually clean down to the pleats — not just rinsed clean on the surface.

The 2.7 lb container holds enough granules for multiple deep-clean cycles — typically a year or more of quarterly maintenance for a single-filter spa, or two cleanings for a swim spa with multiple cartridges. Each cleaning consumes only a portion of the container.

Why this product matters when you already have other filter cleaners: spa filters accumulate two different kinds of contamination, and they need two different treatments:

• Surface contamination — visible debris, oils, and lotion residue on the outer pleats. Handled well by the FreshWater Instant Filter Cleaner (the spray-and-rinse product) on a monthly basis.
• Deep contamination — minerals, organic buildup, and embedded oils that work their way into the cartridge fiber over time. Surface sprays can't reach this. The only fix is an overnight soak in a deep-cleaning chemistry.

If you've ever had a filter that "feels clean" after spraying but the water still won't clear up, deep contamination is the likely cause. Surface cleaning alone leaves embedded gunk in place; deep soaking dissolves it out. Many "filter is going bad" judgments are actually filters that haven't had a proper deep clean in a year or two — restorable, not replaceable, with the right product.
